Rosslyn Real Estate

One of Arlington’s urban villages, Rosslyn is located in the northeastern corner of the County, directly across the Potomac River from Georgetown in Washington, D.C and accessed by Key Bridge. The Rosslyn Metro station is the last one in Virginia before the Blue and Orange Lines cross under the Potomac River and continues through Washington, D.C. The core of Rosslyn, comprised mostly of high rise office buildings, four recent and luxurious condo towers and a new hotel, has a distinctly urban flavor. Rosslyn is the home of the local ABC Network affiliate, WJLA-TV, the Boeing Corporation, Price Waterhouse Coopers, the Corporate Executive Board, Raytheon and Friedman, Billings and Ramsay.

Rosslyn also offers many advantages of an urban life. The neighborhood is a quick walk to Georgetown across Key Bridge. Rosslyn also is linked to Washington D.C. by Memorial Bridge and Roosevelt Bridge. Many sculptures by well known artists enhance the streetscape. The Rosslyn Spectrum Theatre offers concerts by performing artists and an annual independent film festival. Every September, Rosslyn hosts an annual jazz festival featuring nationally known artists. In the summer, Arlington County sponsors the Rosslyn Outdoor Film Festival in Gateway Park. Along with the Courthouse, Clarendon, Virginia Square and Ballston neighborhoods, Rosslyn was named one of the Ten Great Streets by the American Planning Association in 2008.

Rosslyn also is an important tourist destination as it is home to the Iwo Jima Memorial and Arlington Cemetery. The Memorial offers fabulous views of the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument and the United States Capitol. In the summer Sunset Parades are performed every Tuesday night by the US Marine Drum and Bugle Corps and the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon. Iwo Jima also is an excellent vantage point to watch the July 4 fireworks.

Rosslyn is primarily a multi-family neighborhood. While there are a few residential streets containing older single family homes and there also are several townhouse communities, the vast majorities of residence are located in mid and high rise condo buildings. These buildings range in age and luxury amenities. Two of the recent buildings, Turnberry Tower and Waterview Tower, offer luxury amenities and knockout views of Washington, D.C. monuments.
